Lomonosov (Arkhangelsk, Russia) THE INFLUENCE OF I. KANT'S PHILOSOPHY ON THE FORMATION OF THE CONCEPT OF "RELIGIOUS ART" IN THE WORKS OF VL. SOLOVYOV AND L. N. TOLSTOY The article presents an analysis of the influence of Immanuel Kant's ideas on the formation of the academic religious studies concept "religious art" in the works of Vladimir Solovyov and Leo Tolstoy. The article substantiates the relevance of the aesthetic concept of the German philosopher, who proposed not only a systematic version of philosophical aesthetics, but also a justification for the aesthetic construction of reality, for the development of subsequent, including modern, theoretical constructions in the field of reflection on art. The work notes the influence of the following of his ideas on the understanding of the relationship between religion and art in Russian philosophical thought: the concept of differentiation of the cause-and-effect “kingdom of nature” and the “kingdom of freedom” oriented toward following moral duty, the definition of religion as life according to “moral good” and criticism of historical Christianity, the understanding of beauty as formal expediency, the role of the free ability to construct symbols with the help of the activity of reason and imagination. The article presents the main aspects of the aesthetic theory of Vl. Solovyov, who understood art as theurgy, a necessary instrument for the realization of all-unity, facilitating the material embodiment of truth, goodness and beauty, relying on the "faith of Christ," love and compassion, based on his works "Three Speeches in Memory of Dostoevsky" and "The General Meaning of Art.". The ideas of Leo Tolstoy's philosophy of art are reviewed on the basis of the treatise "What is Art?". The Russian writer's criticism of the Kantian principle of pleasure from contemplating the beautiful and the demand for religiously-based feelings conveyed by works of art are emphasized. The understanding of religious art reveals the features of convergence with the Kantian way of thought and its unique concretization in the views of Vl. Solovyov and L. N. Tolstoy, namely, the relationship between morality and materially embodied beauty, the search for true Christianity, the demand for the author's artistic interpretation of religious ideas that are not limited by confessional boundaries, the orientation of the historical process towards the formation of an ethical civil society.. Keywords: aesthetic theory of I. Kant, religious and philosophical aesthetics of Vl.
