Толстого № 3 (11), октябрь 2014 г . 53 The article is devoted to consideration of aesthetic views of Leo Tolstoy, as reflected in one of the early works of the writer’s short story “Albert”. Despite the calming down of the story and its main character, the author of this article insists that, if an artist donates his creativity to people pleasure, despite the ambiguity and contradictions of its own nature, already has the main purpose of art and its purpose is to Thick, bring people together and make “life joyful”, praising and ennoble them – and himself – his creativity.
