Dubnova Natalia Наталья Дубнова Valery Dobritskiy Валерий Добрицкий 40 №2 The categories of the families in a difficult life situation are the following:  poor, incomplete, large families;  families having orphans and children without parenting care;  families having the disabled or chronically ill members, invalids, including invalid children;  families with the adverse psychological microclimate;  families where children and women are undergone any forms of physical, sexual or mental violence (cruel treatment, abuse, humiliation, addiction to alcohol, drugs and etc.);  families with the underage parents;  families having where the people past a course of treatment from alcoholism, addiction, toxic mania, returned from the places of confinement and colonies, leading an immoral and criminogenic way of life, abusing alcohol or taking drugs, HIV-infected;  families, where parents (legitimate representatives) of the children don't fulfil their duties upon parenting, education and (or) support and (or) influence negatively on their behavior, or treat them cruelly. Some statistics: As of the 1 st January 2014, 502 322 families with 669 938 children lived in St. Petersburg, including:  12 842 families parenting 14 073 disabled children;  20 036 families having many children with 64 253 children;  213 student families;  64 848 incomplete families with 74 852 children [2]. The purpose of the research of disadvantage families with children is to analyze the following aspects:  use of different forms of social supports and its assessment;  a material status and living conditions;  parents` employment, free time of children and mutual pastime of children and parents; a fitness, recreation and social infrastructure;  to define a degree of the importance of different problems for the families of the different categories;  to characterize current opportunities for intra-family breeding;  to measure a current level of religiosity on the rating of family problems. The rating of the basic problems of the families with children The basic problems of functioning of families with children in St. Petersburg are the following:  transformation of a mating behavior, later marriages, postponing or refusal from a marriage registration; devaluation of a family way of life, weakening needs in a child birth, prevalence of divorces, an illegitimate birth;  wide prevalence of smoking, alcohol consumption, drug addiction, including teenagers;
