Introduction In the modern world of administrative and business communication, the docu- ment has become one of the key instruments of social interaction and institutional regulation. Every document is not only a carrier of information but also a linguistic and cultural phenomenon reflecting the norms, values, and traditions of the society in which it functions. The effectiveness of professional communication in state and corporate institutions largely depends on the accuracy and clarity of the document’s linguistic form. Therefore, the study of the linguistic features of the official and busi- ness style is of particular importance for understanding the mechanisms of document creation and interpretation. The relevance of this topic is determined by the growing role of documentation in all areas of human activity. With the intensification of global information ex- change, the document acts as a standardized and legally significant means of fixing facts and decisions. The correctness of the language used in official texts ensures not only the accuracy of communication but also the legal validity of the document. In this regard, linguistic norms and stylistic patterns become an essential part of the professional competence of any specialist dealing with official documentation. The purpose of this article is to analyze the linguistic characteristics of docu- ment texts belonging to the official and business style. The study focuses on lexical, morphological, and syntactic features that determine the communicative specificity of such texts, as well as on the principles of standardization and unification that underlie the culture of business writing. The methodological basis of the research relies on the theoretical works of G.V. Tokarev, S.P. Kushneruk, and E.V. Bozhenko, who have made a significant contri- bution to the development of document linguistics and the study of official and busi- ness communication. Their research emphasizes that the document is a special type of text characterized by the interaction of linguistic, pragmatic, and legal aspects.
